Fung's Late Heroics Lifts Dons Past Pacific

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Highlighted by late-game go-ahead two-RBI single, the University of San Francisco baseball team (18-25, 2-12 WCC) earned a 7-5 comeback victory over Pacific (8-34, 3-11 WCC) Saturday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

  • Pacific came out swinging for the second consecutive game, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning to gain an early 3-0 advantage. Jack Metcho led off with a five-pitch walk and quickly swiped second to get into scoring position. The Tigers bombarded the Dons with three straight hits shortly after, two doubles and a single, to score the game's opening runs.
